A ton has changed in this update, but you might not notice any of it at a glance. There are minor UI updates to several common elements, and some dramatic performance improvements.
New UI
The app has minor UI tweaks throughout, most notable there's a new UI for link preview and quote posts:
The link preview is simplified overall, and now has a subtle shadow around the card to indicate the content is external to Bluesky. Quote posts on the other hand have their border removed, and replaced with a solid background for a cleaner look.
Performance
Scroll performance is dramatically improved, with a laundry list of changes. The collective result is preventing 90% of frame rate drops that could occur while scrolling.
Startup time is also improved, with the app now opening in about half the prior time, as a result of completely reworking the startup function.
Bug fixes
One of Boost Blue's oldest and most persistent bugs has been fixed: Since January Boost has cached your timeline so that when the app opens it can immediately show you the posts you were reading when you closed it. However, those posts were stale, not showing updated engagement counts. I've tried to fix this in the past, but those solutions have always introduce other issues. This version finally includes a process where posts are loaded from cache, then have their engagement counts updated after the fact in the background.

Image zoom fixed to zoom in based on where you double tap
Removed vertical movement while swiping between images
Reduced swipe-to-dismiss sensitivity for images
Post detail page updated to respect video auto play settings
